2000 Club Car stops running
2000 CC DS Gas
My cart will start and run fine, but randomly stalls. I can get it to restart by pumping the accellerator several times rapidly. I have changed fuel and added stabilizer/ "Mechanic in a Bottle" , changed fuel filters, and cleaned carb...... no improvement. saw a similar thread that discussed possible coil or ignighter problem, I have spark, although the spark did not seem to be very strong, its consistantly there. Anybody have any thoughts, techniques or trobleshooting ideas to help narrow down the problem. Thanks!!!! |

Re: 2000 Club Car stops running
when you do the carb you need to take it off and really tear it down and go over everything ......every jet , jet hole every port i mean go at it and use compressed air and blow everything out.............otherwise your wasting your time........same with the fuel pump if it has diaframs you need to make sure they are ok. no pin holes or tears, oh and welcome............................

No doubt you really need to tear down carb to a bare body. Don't just pull the bowl and spray like most of our customers do and say the carb has already been cleaned? LOL

This may be out there...
Check the vent screen on the fuel pump to see if it's plugged up, if the screen is clogged with debris, it will cause the same type of problem. I found that situation on a CC and an EZ-GO, brushed it out with an old toothbrush, hit it with a little carb cleaner, and off they went, and still running. |

Re: 2000 Club Car stops running
thanks for the info... i'll give the carb another good cleaning and check/ clean pump
could this be ethanol related..... hummmm!!! whos the genius that decided that would be a good idea. anybody care to tally up the hours and $$ spent cleaning and replacing fuel systems on small engines because of ethanol related problems. |
