Re: 1995 gas Club cart Won't start
thanks Jeff, Before you do that, Jump across the two large posts again just to verify you have good battery, cables and connections and starter works.
If it does spin then put your meter on the large solenoid post that goes to the starter and jumper it with the two small wires again, it should read 12volts if it is working properly. Is the solenoid from a cart place? Edit: sorry, I forgot to mention the above. |

Re: 1995 gas Club cart Won't start
I just jumped the two large posts again and the motor turned over, With my test meter I am reading 12.6v from the two large posts on the solenoid. This is the old solenoid, I will try the new one right now.
Yes solenoid is oem replacement from CC Dealer, ThanksGuys Ok you lost me on the last post, sorry Where do I put the pos and neg from the meter? And what posts am I jumping? Wires attached to the solenoid or not, small wires and large? Thank you |

Re: 1995 gas Club cart Won't start
With meter on large post that goes to starter, and then jumper the two small posts, the large post reads 12.4v. Is that what you wanted, THanks again Jeff
oh and the battery is new and I replaced all the battery leads. |

Re: 1995 gas Club cart Won't start
Yea, I'm in the office and lost thought for a minute. sorry.
What we are doing when jumping the two large posts is verifying the high amp start circuit from battery to starter is working properly. It is because the motor spins. When jumping the two small posts with wires from the battery we are bypassing everything else to determine if the solenoid is working properly. Here is the problem, it clicks and you get a reading of 12.6 volts from the large post going to the starter but the starter does not spin so that tells me that contact in the solenoid is being made to show on your meter but not enough of a good contact being made to send enough amps to turn the starter. It sounds crazy but It sounds like the solenoids (both old and new) are bad. |

Re: 1995 gas Club cart Won't start
OK, I repeated the test and starter turns over!!! LOL What next!!! LOL
I made sure all connections were tight. Jumped the two small terminals with meter on the one that goes to the starter reading 12.6v, old relay. Maybe we are getting somewhere? |

Re: 1995 gas Club cart Won't start
Ok, you energized the solenoid by jumpering to the two small posts and the starter spins.
What you need to do now is find what is not energizing the solenoid when you push the pedal. Put your test leads on the two small wires that came off of the solenoid, Make sure the key is on, shifter in neutral and in maintenance mode. Push pedal, should see 12volts at the two small wires. |

Re: 1995 gas Club cart Won't start
The ignition key has three positions Right? Off, On, And start? Is this correct?
Ok with shifter in neutral and in maintenance mode, with key in on position, pressed gas pedal and meter on two small electrodes reads nothing. Thanks Jeff |
