1996 txt ezgo problem
Hello I have a 1996 txt ezgo. I had dougmcp walk me through some steps and got the cart working. The last step is that he had me use jumper cables from the battery to the controller and the cart worked. I had a burndt up wire going from the solenoid to the controller and I have replaced it. The cart worked like a charm for a week or so. I'm waiting for the accelorator mirco switch to arrive in the mail. My solenoid is currently hard wired to a switch so it will click. The other day I was driving the cart and it died. I waited a few seconds flicked the switch for the solenoid and it went again for about 10 seconds and it died again. Flicked the switch again solenoid click and it went about 8 feet and died again. The solenois has very hot to the touch. I used the jumper cables again with no results. With the key on and in reverse with the toggle switch to get the click I do get the reverse buzzer but no movement!!!!! Any Ideas??????? Thanks Kenn

Re: 1996 txt ezgo problem
Based on what I remember you have a bit of a mess, cable wise and probably have either another bad cable or the solenoid went out.
I would start by replacing all of your battery cables. You can check the solenoid for conductivity by turning on your bypass switch and measure the voltage from negative to both large posts on the solenoid. If it is different, replace the solenoid, if they are the same voltage exactly then you probably have a cable/connection problem. Check the F-N-R switch for conductivity as well. |

Hello, I just replaced the solenoid and the mirco switch for the accelorator. I unhooked the switch for the solenoid and nothing. When I hooked the switch back up I get the buzzer but no movement.

Re: 1996 txt ezgo problem
Update:::: Im back working again with the bypass switch. Okay, like the prior post I change the solenoid and the mirco pedal switch. Why does it work with the bypass and not with out it after I change out those parts????

Re: 1996 txt ezgo problem
The wiring from micro swtch to solenoid. I would be checking it. I would also check F/R cam and contacts for burnt and none contact issues. Ther are 2 micro's on the F/R switch as well.
You need to get the schematic for the cart and run down all the wires to make sure they all go where they are suppose to. If one component is missed wired then everything is out. |

Re: 1996 txt ezgo problem
The have 2 questions....... I have the wiring harness coming from the pedal box there are 4 wires red, green, white and black. What is the order from left to right going to the the controller in the hareness? Also what can I check to see why I have to have the bypass for the solenoid? All my connections are tight and I also check for any bad wires with my UEI DL250 meter!!! Thanks

Red goes to solenoid to give controller power when key is on. The green goes to F/R micro. The white and black go to the controller. I think it's the #2 & #3 spades. #1 is power. I know it's not the best picture but: |
