Default What is this

What is this? Found this after removing my gas tank. It's located on the inside frame rail on a '86 Club Car.

Also anyone have a gas tank for this cart, mine is cracked?

I think that is where the fuel filter sits.

It’s got a crack. I haven’t found anything that will stick to Polypropylene. I tried Gorilla Glue and Seal-All.

1st post stated a 86 club car. op might want to place a listing in the wanted/for sale section!

as a general rule a gas tank is one of the last things to go wrong with a cart. it is also one of the things you never replace. therefore no spares about. i have never had an extra. even if a gas cart gets a big block or a bike engine the origingal tank is almost always reused. might want to check your local cc dealer. a newer tank with a set of new straps should drop in there...

Posted a want ad in the Golf Carts and Parts section for the gas tank and got a reply.
Thanks for the advice 4vertical.
Thanks 2monsters, you are correct on the mount for a filter. Previous owners must have removed it and added a newer inline filter near the tank.

sams uncle sam uses jb weld as posted earlier to make repiais to fuel tank. its part of teh bdar kit. that the battle field damage and repir kit. all hummers have the same type of fuel tanks. only bigger! for 5 bucks i think it is worth a shot !
bubble gum and duct tape may work out too!

Thanks for the info ckiguy. A lot of fuel tanks are made of plastic. These tanks are made of polypropylene. Plastic it easy to fix but nothing will stick reliably to polypropylene. I might have to give it a try though since I haven’t heard back from the guy that said he will sell me one.
