Default '86 CC DS Differential Clockwise??? pic included

I have a Duromax 16hp in route, but i just noticed by looking at some other folks Duromax builds that their driven clutch was facing the opposite way mine does. So does mean the differential is Clockwise and will not work with a Counter clockwise duromax engine? If this is the case, can i flip the axle around? LOL

Edit: Sorry, this probably belongs in the big block section, any admins able to move this?

That IS a counterclockwise transaxle! (for a Club Car anyways)

How the Duromax engine rotates, in what position, however, eludes me.

*slaps hand on forehead* I went out and realized I had it shifted in reverse on accident, it does indeed turn counterclockwise. Thanks, for the quick reply though!

So, now the question is, since the Duromax 16hp does indeed spin counter clockwise, and the transaxle shaft faces to the passanger side, this means the top of the belt is always going to roll towards the transaxle. Is this okay? loss in power / increased risk of belt slippage? But as i think about it, that must mean the CC stock engine did this.

Was under the impression the engine crank should be pulling the belt away from the driven clutch, not towards it. Of course it just means the pull is on the bottom now, and if the belt is properly tight enough i would expect it to be fine??

Regardless though, i remember seeing a thread on the site here that had a guy who flipped his motor so the drive clutch was on the opposite side that the driven was on, and ran a pole with two pulleys across the width of the motor and had two belts hooked up connecting the Drive and Driven clutches. This i believe would cause it to pull the belt "towards the motor". If anyone knows what I'm referring to and knows where i could locate that picture/thread i would be grateful. I spent about a half hour combing through threads i had previously read to no avail.

I don't know the thread, and I understand what you think might work better...

All I can say is, that you may be looking WAY too deep into this!

From 85 to early 96, Club Car had a counterclockwise transaxle, and in 91 Kawasaki had an OHV engine for it.
And it's to my understanding, (someone correct me if I'm wrong) that Kawasaki themselves,
decided to change the rotation of their engine in 96, and Club Car had to follow suit!

So to calm your curiosity, it doesn't matter whether the belt pulls from the top of the clutch, or the bottom...
You won't have loss of power, OR belt slippage, because the drive clutch has equal tension on both when it's engaged!

Hope this helps!

Just put the engine in there & let er rip, well after you get a clutch or adapter, wire it up,figure out throttle & exaust. There, that ought to be enough to worry about.lol hookm

hookm.... "just let her rip!" It's never really THAT easy... is it???

The biggest thing you have to be concerned about P, is when you place the engine in the cradle,
with the crankshaft facing the passenger side... Will it rotate counterclockwise?

I admit... I don't know anything about Duromax engines!

I'm only going off hearsay from what I've read on the forums here. This thread has quite a few posts saying the Duromax is indeed a CCW rotating engine.
