Ok folks.....I'm getting there. Trial and error baby! Does anyone know what sort of compression this engine should be at? I should have good news for everyone in abut 5 minutes....God I hope.

does anyone know the brand or maker of this 341cc flat head? Again, this is ina 1986 Club Car. My machinest will look up all specs if we can find that info.

I have a large kawasaki repair manual. I can't find the model # u gave.
You may be interested to know the valve adjustment is the same for all of the adjustable valve engines that I see listed. Think you'd be safe with that.
Cold adjustment is:
0.12 mm
0.0047 inch

My cart is running great....a bit hot but I think I need to adjest the carb now. I cannot thank everyone enough. My project would have stumped me if it wasnt for this site. Thanks for the specs on the valves!!! She's a little smokey right now, but I think it's the engine burning of excess oil etc.

Besure to readjust those valves (COLD) often until everything is broke in. Glad to have helped.

Thanks ScottyB...I'm not sure I know how to adjust the valves at all. The engine is running pretty hot and smells & looks a little smokey....tried to adjust fuel air screw but that didnt help. I'm happy it's running at all, but want to dial it in to make her purrrr. Any thoughts?

you need to adjust them valves like scottyB said. if you just rebuilt that motor then it will purrrr like you want if you don't you will end up damaging the new motor...
