Re: 2pg crank seals and berings
Ouch. The port in the piston skirt faces the carburetor. The easiest way to check is to remove the exhaust pipe and spark plug, then get a friend to slowly rotate the engine whilst you peer into the port with a flashlight.
If you see a hole in the piston this would be a good time to take a short cry break. Dave |

Re: 2pg crank seals and berings
Yes the hole faces up. What might be throwing you is that the engine will run with the piston in incorrectly although is will never generate any power, so the fact in ran last night is not a real issue, it is right now. I would suspect that you have disturbed an electrical connection in moving the engine. It might be that your spark plug lead is cracked and is shorting to the muffler which is fairly common. In any case check the connections from the pulsar and anything else you can see first.
BTW, nice handle. My parents were in the Iron and Steel business. Mom did the ironing and Dad did the stealing. Thank you, thank you, I'll be here all week, try the veal. Dave |

Re: 2pg crank seals and berings
With a new rebuild removing the cylinder twice and all I would replace the plug EVEN if it was new from the beginning.May be fouled a bit and by the way cleaning the plug is not the answer. K Also you may want to replace the plug wire. Lets see what happens
