Rear end swap
Im new and not exactly sure where to post this question so if it needs to be moved please tell me. I have a 2003 electric Club Car I am in the process of converting to a gas. I want to use a gas rear end so I will have reverse, but I am not sure if a gas rear end will bolt right up or need to be modified. I would like some info on this if anyone can help me before I go buy a rear end. Thanks in advance!

Re: Rear end swap
What engine are you using? It matters because the direction your engine runs makes a difference as to which rear end I'm gonna tell you to use.

Re: Rear end swap
Im looking at using a Powerhorse 414cc (12HP) from northern tool. It says counter clock wise shaft rotation on the website.

Re: Rear end swap
You'd need a '96 or older rear end for anti-clockwise rotation.

Re: Rear end swap
Exactly.... But here's the problem. You also need a transmission, which is no longer available from Club Car. The new style rearends have the transmissions built into the case. You'll use an electric car rear end with a transmission instead of an electric motor. Good luck finding one. We've got two cars at work that need them and we haven't been able to locate one at all.

Re: Rear end swap
So if I can find a transmission it will bolt up to the electric rear end?
