A good standard 12 volt battery that will fit into the area made for it. Tried to find battery specs in my 91 manual but none to be found.

I have also heard of guys using deep cycle batteries but don't see what that would do better than a standard good cranking starter battery as the gen works right away with out a ton of draw so i go with standard.
