Changing out driven spring - ramps
I purchased the Erlandson belt and spring kit for my 09 MPT 1200 with the kawasaki, I'm looking at the ramp buttons and I see lots of wear. Looks like I can flip them around and get a second use out of them. Question is should I smooth down the worn spots on the driven cam or leave them alone? I don't see a part number for the cam to replace it by itself, it comes as a kit with lots of other things I don't need..
I can see leaving it alone because it's worn but smooth.. If I take a file and then sandpaper to it it will still have a somewhat rough surface to break in. |

Re: Changing out driven spring - ramps
Put new buttons in it. smooth the helix with a flapper wheel, do not try and get it flat.
You will keep a close eye on it and see how the new buttons wear. |
