Club Car with Alltrax controller not moving
Hello All,
I'm new to the forum and in need of some help. My 92 Club Car has been upgraded with Scottyb's conversion kit that includes the 500 amp Alltrax controller. I wired everything up myself and have used it for about 2 months now here and there on hunting trips and it has worked like a charm, not a problem with it. After about 7 days of no use, I went to move it today and it reversed about 3 feet and quit. The cart was fully charged. The solenoid still clicks when the pedal is pressed but the resistor is really hot. Scotty also told me to check the battery pack volts and they show about 52-53 volts with and without throttle. The pos and neg post of the controller show about 6 volts with the key on and about 52-53 (same as battery pack) when the pedal is pressed down. That's all I know to mention right now. Thanks for the help guys. |

I am no expert, but I would check voltage at the motor with the petal down. If you have voltage, then your motor is the problem. If no voltage, then work your way back.

Re: Club Car with Alltrax controller not moving
Whenever we see the resistor getting hot enough to burn your finger then we know the controller is trying to draw enough amperage through the resistor to run the cart.
They do this when the solenoid does not close. Is the solenoid making a distinctive click when you try to go? If no, then trouble with the solenoid activation circuit. If yes, then trouble with the solenoid is itself. If no click use the diagram below to troubleshoot the solenoid activation circuit. Connect your black lead to the battery B- and try to follow the positive activation circuit from its source to the solenoid. If the solenoid clicks but does not work, you can test it by removing the resistor and checking for voltage on the battery side when it's off and on both sides when it's on or engaged. I hope this helps |
