G9 won't charge
Hello,
I took my G9 out on the weekend to play 18 holes and halfway through it would not turn over anymore. The starter would try and crank but the battery did not have enough jam to turn it over. My first guess was the battery was crap, but even boosted from my truck with dual optima batteries it would not turn over. I removed the start/gen to trouble shoot. The brushes have at least 50% remaining. I cleaned up all the terminals on the start gen case with a wire brush, all the connections are IAW the wiring diagram. It turns over better now and I can get it to start but there is no charging voltage. The voltage output from the gene is only showing about 11.8VDC. Also there is continuity between both the green and red wires coming out of the start gen and the start gen case. I was wondering about flashing the field to maybe get the generator side to come online, anyone |
