Default Re: Xrt 1550 U joint?

The end of the yoke where the rear ujoint fits broke on my xrt 1550. Would NAPA or similar have those as well? Thanks for any info.

My rear yoke broke as well, I was hoping someone answered you. Seems like getting u joints and yokes would be easy.

It is easy. I shared the part number in post #10.

Older thread, but hoping to get y’all’s lessons learned…

I just knuckled under and just bought the entire front prop shaft from ClubCar for my XRT 1550 diesel… Got a veterans discount so it was a little less painful. I’m tired of all the popping noise from having the U joints bearing-less. Any hints on removing the prop shaft itself? Or is it pretty simple? TIA.

I would tackle the bolt. Spray some penetrating oil on it, not WD40, several times a day. Give it a wack with a hammer each time. NOTE: put a nut on the bolt so that it flush with the end of the bolt, this will keep the bolt from being expanded by the hammer blows.

It appears that the other end, the transmission end has a spline which allows the shaft to slide back and forth as the suspension moves. It has a grease zerk, it should have been greased at regular intervals.

I suspect that the broken U-joint is the result of the U-joint on the transmission spline bring rusted, thus putting stress on the U-joint.
