Alternate way to center steering wheel??
My steering wheel is off center on my 1993 DS and would like to center it. I have read many posts on removing the steering wheel and putting back on centered. But it doesn't look like it works very easily on many carts. I'm wondering after looking under my cart at the steering knuckle if I can loosen the bolt on the upper knuckle and pull the wheel and shaft out and rotate. Then insert back into the knuckle and tighten. Would it work this easily or am I not seeing the whole picture correctly? I assume it would work this way but you know what the word assume means??

I would just adjust the drag link.

Re: Alternate way to center steering wheel??
I;m having the same issue. Where is the drag link? Since I lifted my cart 6'' my steering wheel is not centered!

Re: Alternate way to center steering wheel??
It runs from stearing gear unit to the right wheel on my DS. Make sure you adjust your toe in first with the tie rods even on both sides. Then turn the wheels straight and loosen the nuts on both ends of the drag link and adjust until the stearing wheel is where you are happy with it. Take it for a drive then refine and tighten the nuts back.

Gotcha looks pretty simple thanks...
Still curious if my possible fix will also work?? If so it would also be fairly simple. |

BUT... in most cases you won't have an equal radius turning left or right. It's best to adjust the drag link for optimal/equal turning radius. |

You should have 1 1/2 turn of the wheel in each direction or close to that. |

Re: Alternate way to center steering wheel??
Many thanks for all the info Lockman1 and mrgolf. My wheel isn't very far off so I'm not that worried about equal turning direction.
