Default Ezgo txt 36v to 12v

I have attached a couple pictures. I am trying to connect this reducer that also includes the key switch wire. I've connected the + and - to the battery pack several different way and it continues to blow the fuse. I have a 4pole key switch but would prefer to get the 12V off this reducer for the accessories I've added (stereo, lights, etc)

Below is the series of connections I have tried with no success (see attachment to reference my #'s)

POS. 6 NEG. 5
POS. 2 NEG. 1
NEG. 2 POS. 5

Yes I'm a newb! :D

I have those instructions. My problem is when I connect the positive and negative to what I think is the main battery pack (1 & 2 referenced in pic) the inline fuse blows.

Connect the yellow wire to the positive on battery 2.
Black wire to the negative on battery 1.
If the fuse blows the reducer has an issue.
If the fuse does not blow, connect the green wire to the positive on battery 2 (same post as yellow wire).
If the fuse didn't blow check the voltage from the reducer red wire to negative on battery 1.
If the fuse blows or you don't have 12 volts then the reducer is bad.

That's what I did and thought it was correct. Fuse did blow. I'll do it once more and chalk it up to bad reducer. Thanks for verifying my sanity lol.
