Yamaha Gas G14 Cranks won’t Start
I have a gas Yamaha G14 that cranks but won’t start. i have gas getting to spark plug, good compression, and good spark. It fires than stops. If it was a car I would assume issue was timing.
Does anyone have any ideas what it could be? Some more information: Golf cart was sitting for many years. I rebuilt engine, cleaned valves, new battery, spark plug, and air & gas filters. |

So it starts, runs, then dies?
Or tries to start, then hiccups, sputters, and dies? |

I going to drain gas and put in fresh gas to see if this resolves the issue

The yamaha G14 has a very complicated ignition system. A good next step would be using a spark tester when it fails to start. Another option is to see if it runs on starting fluid. That should tell you if it is a fuel issue or not.

Gas had water replaced with new gas. Now runs but still pops and has to restart. Going to check the spark
