I just received my 2016 CC yesterday. It has brand new Trojan 875's. Should I change to algorithm 3? I haven't had to add water as of yet. I have the factory algorithm 256.

Thanks to everyone who contributed here. The update was super easy. On algorithm 3 now and no issues to report. It does seem to be charging faster now.

2016 CC Precedent. ERIC charger. 48 volt. Just installed new trojan t-875s. using alg #3. Batteries are gurgling and seem to smell a bit. No sign of any vapour coming out of batteries.
Have been checking the voltage while charging and it is at 64 volts.
When charge cycle stopped they settled back down to 53 volts.
Is this normal/safe for the batteries?
Do I need or should I install the firmware update that was mentioned earlier in this thread?
I have 4.3.7.264
Thank for all the info and help.

All normal for new batteries....They have to break in which takes about 10 or more charging cycles...Just make sure that you let the charger finish each time...

What if I have two different types of batteries in my carts? Is there a charge algorithm that's generic or safe for all types of batteries. I haven't changed a setting on my chargers since we bought them new. We have a lot of boil off and constantly have to add water to 30+ 2015 Precedents.

If the batteries are all similar amp hours you could choose an algorithm that is close..If the batteries are not the same amp hours they will not charge the same rate...There is not a generic one...Trial and error...Go to Delta Q's site and do some research...

Which algorithm do you have now...

So a buddy just changed from his stock Club Car batteries to some Trojan T-875s and I was going to change his algorithm to #3 and when I pulled his info off the charger it looks like about 6 charge cycles ago it changes to #3 already...how can it change on its own??

Little background he had a loose battery cable that melted one of his batteries...im assuming thats why that last few charges looked erratic?
