Default Cart dies uphill

Hey guys, went to a new campgrounf this weekend in the mountains. After driving in the cart parade, we started up a hill and the cart just came to a slow stop and wouldnt move, had to pull over and turn around and it was fine, did it a couple times. New batteries, fresh charge, never had this problem before. Is it a controler issue, aluminum fins under controler were hot. Stock motor, stock controler that I know oh, speed chip, 25" tires, 36V Trojans

Thanks

Im new here but gonna take a stab at it. I would say 36v with those size tires are not going to be happy with steep grades. My 36v txt climbs mild grades at 1/2 its top speed.

Ive had this cart built this way for almost 10 years, have be in the mountains before with no issues and much steeper hills. Im wondering if the controler is going bad.

Thought maybe you were climbing some bug stuff. Do all the connections look good and clean tight etc. Hows your input from the go pedal look. Is she good on the flats.
