Default Windshield hinge

Was going to replace a worn out windshield hinge. The original is glued on. Any advice on solvent to remove? I kinda hate to replace the complete windshield just because of the hinge. Thanks in advance

I replace the hinge on mine with a hinge that slid on but it only lasted until I hit the first good bump in the road. Never did find a good way to remove the old one. I would not recommend the slide on type. Good luck!

I tried that once and eventually opted for a new windshield. I think they glue that on with good-godamightey glue. The same stuff they seal tater chip bags with.

So, I ended up cutting off the old glued on hinge…used a table saw, then sanded and cleaned up the edge. I used the clamp on type of hinge. I can’t imagine that coming loose. It was a mf to install.

Good luck to you! This is a learning experience at your experience. Please post your results.

Just want to say, I bought what was advertised as a 1/4” replacement only to find out when it arrived that it was 3/16”.🙁
