Default Shuttle Upgrade Update

From a while back, I fell into this shuttle of my dreams in the fall. It wasn't running right (2-3 mph) so I plunked down some cash for a complete ScottyB upgrade; new controller, solenoid, F/R switch and contactors. I replaced all of the wiring with 2g. I finally did this work over the past weekend I now have 10 mph right out of the shoot which I am tickled with. This shuttle weighs over 1,500 pounds so the fastest it is supposed to go is 12 mph. I lost a battery over the winter (5.8 volts charged) and, when I get it replaced, I am pretty sure I will be in that 12 mph range. No, I am not using this cart at with the bad battery (other than the brief test drive).

Now, the stuff I got from ScottyB allows a 48v upgrade. My initial intention was to put two more 6v in there but I now think I am going to go with 8 volt batteries. In addition to the shuttle, I have an old Pargo restoration project that is just about done. It needs batteries so I will put the 6 volters in there.

Now, when I upgraded the shuttle wiring I didn't do the charging wires. I have plenty of wire left over though so it would be easy enough. I just don't know if it's necessary. Can someone let me know?

Also, if I remember correctly, upgrading to 48v normally gets an additional 30% or so speed and torque? That should get me about 15 mph. I don't want this thing to go any faster than that.

I will need a new charger for this too but I am pretty sure I know who to ask about about that via email .

I love the shuttle, the color combo reminds me of my grandfathers old ford grenada
