No. What I'm asking about is the ignition system in the engine under the flywheel. It will be either points & condenser, or a magnetic pickup coil called a pulsar.

Your center picture shows the forward/ reverse switch, the key switch, the solenoid, and the ignition coil down low under the solenoid.
In your third picture, there is a pivoting lever pressing against the white cap of your driven clutch. That's the governor. You can go ahead, and toss that in the trash now.

How do you feel about "Free project carts are not free"?

In other news...
If he has the newer engine, this project won't be so bad. Unlike that 3 wheeler that was on here a few days ago.

This is part of their history. 1980 was a transition year from internal starter to external. They also changed the ignition, but I don't know exactly when. I'm hoping you don't have points.

"They later moved the company to Augusta Georgia where it remains to this day. All of the golf carts produced ran on batteries until 1971 when they introduced a 175cc model 17-CES 1PG two cycle Robin version. They used this four bolt head Robin engine made by Fugi Heavy Industries until 1975. In 1976 they came out with a six head bolt model EC25-DS 244cc two stroke Robin engine also made by Fugi. This engine also had an internal starter/generator that was kept until mid 1980. In mid 1980 they introduced the external Hitachi starter/generator. This model EC25-2PG engine was used until 1988. In 1989 until 1993 they used the model EC25-3PG 244cc two stroke Robin engine. In 1991 they came out with their first four stroke engine , a 295 cc, 9 hp one which was replaced by a 350 cc four cycle in 1996. In 1997 Textron bought out Cushman and continues to manufacture Cushman industrial vehicles as well as their E-Z-GO line of golf carts and industrial vehicles."

I studied your pictures a little more.
I don't see a voltage regulator. 79 had a 4 wire obsolete model that is not available. Your engine should have the newer 3 wire regulator.

You have a strange key switch. It is a 3 terminal model. We will have to test it with a meter to see what the different positions do. My guess would be an accessory position for lights.

All of those electrical connections will need to be cleaned. The FnR switch should come apart to be cleaned too.

I see what looks like a throttle cable, but can't tell if there is a carburetor attached to it.

I would like to see more engine pictures. Front, back, and top. I can't see if the drive clutch is there.
The engine mounts with the spark plug pointing towards the driver's side. Some of the head bolts are used for mounting. All of your engine bolts are going to be metric.

Your cart looks amazing. Great job

I never used a repair manual for mine - I got a new cylinder, piston, rings, seals, plug, fuel pump, all the typical stuff. Mine is a 3PG.
