Speed this thing up!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey fellas, so I have a 2001 EZGO TXT 36V with a heavy duty solenoid and Alltrax SR 48400 controller....it has the lift kit with heavier tires and wheels and I need it to go FASTER...What do you recommend (other than getting a gas one :P ) to do to upgrade the speed??

Re: Speed this thing up!!!!!!!!!!!
going to 48v's will get you a bump in both speed and torque of 30%.....and if that's not enough speed, get a high speed motor as well.

Re: Speed this thing up!!!!!!!!!!!
I just asked this same question in a new post. Can I just add another battery and maybe the solenoid?

Re: Speed this thing up!!!!!!!!!!!
To go up in V you will need a controller, charger and solenoid that will handle the new V. Your controller and/or solenoid may be able to handle the higher V, depends on the model. I thought the SR48400 was compatible with 36, 42, 48v. I also thought that most HD solenoids were multi-volt compatible but I'm not positive.
You will also need some new cables to connect the new battery with. They need to be the same thickness as the existing cables and a minimum of 4 GA. ---- edit ---- According to the Alltrax website your controller is compatible. So going to 42V or 48V will require the charger and cables and possibly the solenoid. |

Re: Speed this thing up!!!!!!!!!!!
No - read his first post! He has SR48400 Alltrax control.
All Alltrax controls are 36/48v minimum. Looks like he needs a 48v solenoid or a little creative activation circuit wiring - If you are a constant contributor here you should know how to explain how this is done. |
