Motor opinions...
Having a hard time pulling the trigger on this one. Just when I think D&D is the answer, I hear about something else...
So - given the choice - would you go D&D or EMP? What about the cost differences? I'll be running a 500 or 600 amp controller with 36 volts on a lifted cart - if that makes a difference. Is this simply a matter of 6 of one and half a dozen of the other? |

Re: Motor opinions...
D&D not sure....last time I checked around $550-$650 ish. Depends on the motor. All new.
EMP should be around $300 ish shipping and all, maybe more. Most parts are new and you can opt for a 2 speed. I have used a few of these and I think they are well worth the money. I just can't see spending 5-600 dollars on a motor. As you may know they re-design your motor for more speed, torque or both. Theres also others not worth mentioning...theres some on EBAY to but never heard of them. Have you thought about going 48 volts? That will give you a 20-25% increase in speed and torque by itself. Add 48 volts to a high performance motor and she'll fly. Best thing to do is call both of these company's and ask them lots of questions. If it seems all they are trying to do is make a sale then I would look at another motor dealer. |

Re: Motor opinions...
I didn't think that 2 speed was an option for the PDS. I have thought about going 48v... and I may in the future... but for now I want to keep the setup that I have.
I'll call EMP tomorrow.... like you said - D&D is EXPENSIVE! My only question - when I buy a controller - can I tell them what kind of motor I have if I go with EMP? Meaning: Can Alltrac program to the EMP motors? |

Re: Motor opinions...
Oops...Didn't remember you had a PDS. I'm not sure if they do or not.
Alltrax should be able to program for anyhig you have...if not you could always do it yourself. |
