Can't wait to see more pics! Was the clutch engaging doing this before ya did all the work? I would pull it apart and see if someone had put in a different spring to engage it later.

Last year you said

2. the starter is wired straight from battery through a key switch and push button start, the problem is the key does not shut off the eng. is there a way to hook up a kill switch?

So I wonder if someone set up the clutch to enable the cart to idle and not move forward. As I am sure you are aware normally the ignition is switched by a switch on the throttle and so the cart is designed not to idle. Did you resolve the issue raised in your point 2.? If so your problem may be as simple as using the correct lower tension spring.

thanks for both the responses, the cart does idle all the time so the problem could be with the clutch springs. maybe the previous owner did this to allow the clutch to engage later, although it does need to rev pretty high before it engages enough to move the cart. once the cart is moving and you bacl off the gas and then back on it engages pretty quick but if it idles for 30-45sec its again slow to engage.

i will try to post pictures tomorrow im pretty happy with what my son and me have done.

as a side note figured out what the black wire does, it kills the engine so that will be my kill switch. no one has been able to tell me what the 2 green wires do, but i'm thinking some kind of sensor wires.

thanks again for the input

Green wires may be part of the original charging system if i'm correct they had a stater for charging the battery in a conventional mower and such. If i'm wrong i'm sure someone will correct me.
