Grounding independent 12v
If I add a seperate 12v battery to my cart to run my lights, can I ground it to the frame or should I ground it back to the battery? Is the carts power supply grounded to the frame anywhere?

You have to ground it back to the battery. I'm by no means that knowledgable, but I've seen alot of posts from the experts saying that grounding to the cart frame will cause big problems.

i have seen some people say that, but I want sure if it only pertained to situations where you tap into the battery series of the cart, or if it was in all situations. I was just trying to cheap out on the wire since I had just enough to get the power wire to the lights, but i sure didnt want to cause thousands of dollars in damage trying to save $3 in wire. I just spend the money to buy new wire.

I ran 10 gauge wire from it to my battery so I can plug in a trickle charger and keep that battery charged. I have my lights running directly to the batter as well. I bought a 6 gang fuse block to wire all accessories to it and wire it to the battery, but havent had time to mount and wire it. |

I have my primary lights, (head and tail) along with some LED'd all running to the same 12 volt battery. The LED's and the head/tail lights are each individually fused. That's all that is necessary.

This is an electric car. The major electronic components are bolted directly to the neutral frame without protection. A short could be costly.
