Good are bad
Pretty new to the golf cart word as of a few weeks ago but I bought a ezgo txt with 9 year old batteries its in great almost brand new shape the batteries are trojan t 105s and surprisingly I'm getting about 6-8 miles out of them after a full charge just wondering if that's a good thing are bad thing some local shops say its amazing some day it will not be long till they crap out just looking for opinions on if I should replace them I just maybe cruise around the neighbor hood a few times and then park it but we ride everyday are afternoon

Average battery life span is about 7 years replace them or they will let you down.

Re: Good are bad
if its a totally stock cart......who ever had the cart before you took incredible care of the batteries, for most batteries would have died a few years ago.......the fact that you get 5-6 miles it pretty amazing.....if I were you, buy a set a good quality batteries soon.

Re: Good are bad
just because the tires are not stock does not mean the cart is not stock
Groundedbigbody that's an amazing thing to see for those OLD batteries !! but as stated you will need to change them soon .. VERY SOON !! fresh batteries should get you around 16 miles |

Re: Good are bad
I got nine years to the month out of my Exides in a totally stock series TXT. If it's serving its purpose, don't feel like you have to throw them out. However, if you got the upgrade bug...

Re: Good are bad
205/30/14 tires are only 18.8" tall. Cosmetically, they aren't stock, but from an electromechanical perspective they are pretty darn close.
I'm with the "If the meet your needs and desires - run them until they die" mindset, but suggest you start tossing $20 bills in a Mason Jar every time you service the batteries to cushion the blow a little when they do die. |
