It's very possible. PDS cart, Alltrax DCX500, D&D motor, 48v, 6:1 gears and 20" tires will get 40 mph on a txt. I did it and sold it.

Yes there are 800 amp controllers and they go much, much larger too for the EV conversion crowd. Golf cart battery packs cannot deliver that much current anyway and even if they did the motor has to request that in the first place and that isn't going to happen on 99% of all carts.

His picture didn't show any controller either.

I have seen your work !! Very Nice. :-) This cart had stock motor and an 800 amp controller.

My lifted RXV will do 27 mph. Adding high speed gears is asking for long term problems, in my opinion.
