Default Adding speedometer

I have a 2017 EZGO express S4 gas golf cart. I’m thinking of adding a speedometer if that’s possible. Any recommendations or experience with this?

Speedometers are nice but require calibration. Mounting a small gps or installing a gps based speed app on your smart phone is more logical. I use an android app that offers standard view or heads up display mode. It is free.

You are likely to take your phone with you anyway. It might as well make itself useful on the ride. If you mount a bluetooth speaker like the Oontz Angle 3 it serves as a hands free speakerphone. Even if it is playing music when a call comes in.

I run an Equus 8086 tachometer and wanted a speedometer that matches. Equus doesn't make a GPS unit in the 8000 series. I found this unit to be the same size as the tach 3-3/8"diameter and it has a roof mounted antenna so it's accurate - no calibration necessary.

Looking to order that same tach. Simple to install? Just set to 4cyl?

I actually got a speedo designed for a bicycle, but i ensured it allowed calibration for the smaller cart wheels. Works great, and is dead on with gps app.

I like that 2" diameter digital model. Small enough to fit into my dash panels. The VC tach at 3-3/8" I had to clamp to the steering column.

Installed the 2" digital speedo in the dash earlier this week. Mounted the antenna on a light mounting tab on the brush guard. It works great.
