Default Motor control box

I am looking for a motor control box for a 1996 EZGO Texton Medalist (DCS) electric golf Kart. The motor control box could be a rebuild one also. one from the dealer is about $800. I can not pay that amount. Thanks for any help.

Don't get another stock DCS controller. The HUGE gaffe with them is that there is no under-voltage cutoff. Meaning if you run your batteries low, you WILL kill the controller. I've heard that a DCS cart is wicked with an Alltrax DCX400

I saw that it increase the speed. I really do not care for that. It is for my mother who is 78 old and for my daughter who is 14 old. They use it to get to the garden and back and forth to my house.

You can program the Alltrax from your computer with a free software from Alltrax to limit what the top speed is

Yep, what CC said. You can control the torque and speed with the software. 100% torque with half speed will give you all the ump at about 12 mph..

I hate to say it, but, a rebuilt stock controller may best suit your needs. I would suggest a alltrax controller, as it is better in EVERY way (low voltage cutoff protection, better torque & speed). But, cost and use considered (cost being key here), a stock style rebuilt controller may be best for your needs. If FSIP offers your controller, you might consider it. FSIP is the only rebuilder i would consider for a rebuilt controller (they are certified by curtis for curtis controllers, the original manufacturer of your stock controller).

If I would buy the Alltrax DCX 400,who would you but it from? I live in North Carolina. I would like a company that could program it for me.
