Marathon 2 Cycle to 4 Cycle Swap
Hello,
I currently have an EZGO Marathon (1992) that has a 4 cycle engine that is getting a little long in the tooth. Additionally, the body and the frame on it are pretty beat up as it was a grounds keepers cart. I have found a "donor" cart that that is also a Marathon that previously had a 2 cycle engine in it, but it has been removed. The bonus is the "donor" cart already has a lift and wheels and tires with a few other modifications to it. It also appears to have mostly straight sheet metal to start with. So my question is how feasible is it to install my engine and rearend into the 2 cycle Marathon? I know my engine needs an overhaul before installation and looks like that should run around $500 with a kit offline and the boring. It runs decent, but it smokes a little going down hill and uses a small amount of oil. Thanks for any input! Dave |

Also in the same project, care to share ideas? I'm new to the cart world. Want to swap 2 cycle with 4... How do I keep reverse?
