Never said I did know about the CAN bus. You asked and Bob answered. I already told you a safe way.

The CAN bus + and - are data lines, and as such they are not intended to power devices. You mentioned connecting to them, and also mentioned measuring volts. They are not to be read for voltage, they just supply data. There are connections on the same connector that carry battery pack + and - for measuring pack voltage. Look at the 2008-early 2012 RXV wiring diagram for the pinout of that connector. I've posted wiring diagrams for both Danaher and Curtis versions of the RXV.

Which leads me to question their "other" way of connecting directly to the key switch as well. Seems like you've gotten you answer a few times.

EX-RAY red wire goes to the solenoid post. EX-RAY black wire goes to pack negative. That will give you pack voltage that is switched. How hard is that. Smartarse.

By the way. Can I have your paypal email address to send the bill for the 12v relay?

Which 12 volt relay? The one I have for sale? You know the coil is 12 volts and not pack voltage?

The one you said to use in my which switch wire to cut. Lol

NOTE: You don't want to "burn the fuse".

Still cracking up over, "DC/DC Buck Transformer". As opposed to a DC/DC Boost Transformer.

EDIT:

If you choose to go this route, allow me to update the diagram first. The relay and reducer negative need to go directly to the pack negative, not tapped as my drawing indicates. Also, the relay coil positive needs to go to the solenoid post, not tapped as drawing indicates.

This is a quick "before coffee" sketch, that needs some tweaking. Other suggestions welcome.

That was a 48 volt relay, not 12, and although you only needed 10 amps, I did a quick Google and found a 30 amp one. If you bought it and don't need it, PM me, and I'll take it off your hands. Not that I need it, as I said I already have a box full, but lemme know if I caused you to buy unnecessary stuff.

I don't get the "which switch wire to cut."
