89 easy go steering
Where can I buy parts to repair my steering which has to much free play in it. Seems like a worn rack?

Before buying any parts, I would find out what is worn/loose. HAve someone turn the wheel and look under with a flashlight, see if you can see any slop. JAck the front end up, grab rods, tires, etc and give 'em the shake test. For the most part, nothing should have play or be loose. |

Re: 89 easy go steering
My 85 has a little play, I don't know if an 89 is the same design but I found my play at the end of the steering column to gear. The rack and pinion itself seemed ok but how the pinion gear attaches to the column had play, there's just a pin through the column and gear. The hole was worn a little so not a tight fit anymore, I thought about drilling it out bigger and put a bigger pin in but decided the play isn't that bad yet
