Help me out - belt or clutch
Hey guys. How do I diagnose a belt vs a clutch problem. My cart has 25” tires. I really have to wind up the RPMs before it engages and starts to move. Is this normal? Once moving it seems to pull fine even up hills. If you come to a stop sign and don’t let it idle all the way down it takes off fine. But if the motor stops you have to wind it up again to get going. This is my first cart so it may be normal operations but I’m looking for info if a new belt or clutch would alleviate this jerky start. Thanks

Re: Help me out - belt or clutch
I don't know to what degree your rpm's are revving at engagement but I'll tell you this, if it's a 2-cycle you need higher rpm's for power as they have no low end torque. Especially with big 25" tires

Re: Help me out - belt or clutch
Lift up the seat and watch it I'd suspect your primary clutch is sticking and engaging late. Remove it, clean it out a d it should be better. It should close basically as soon as the engine starts to spin
If you can upload a short.video to youtube and paste the link here, should be pretty easy for us to tell |
