I finally got around to changing the fuel filter. It didn't look dirty and was supposedly changed on the last service but I think that was a major part of the problem. I now only have hesitation on the first start of the day for about 2 seconds. The rest of the day it runs perfectly. I also removed the fuel pump and blew some carb cleaner into the inlets. I was going to open the pump to clean but couldn't figure out the process.

It is a Mikuni but it looks like the attached, so there was no easy screw offs. Thanks for all the information, I really appreciate the help. I would have been almost completely lost if it wasn't for this site, as I'm not that knowledgeable or mechanically inclined.
