just picked up yamaha g1, need some advice
i just picked up a yamaha g1 and its my first cart and havent tinkered to much with them YET. i got if for $100 cause the guy couldnt figure out how to get it in reverse. well the answer is the ignition switch is missing so easy fix from the looks of it cause pugs are still there. rough on outside but engine looks clean as hell. havent fired it so im asking for advice on things to look for or to do before the switch gets here to try it. its been sitting for awhile so any input from you guys that would know will help. also i have yamalube at my work, is this the best to use for it? and should i just mix and disconnect injection? if so how? and has anybody come across a long travel suspension for these or made a trick one yet? thanks for the help

Re: just picked up yamaha g1, need some advice
Hi Im new to the board also and also just recently got a G1. From what I read on here Yamalube is what you should use in it. And if you search good on here you will find a lot of lifted G1's. I just yesterday ordered 4 new mags and tires and a 4 inch lift kit for mine. At the moment I have it inside the garage all tore down getting ready to put undercarriage paint on it. I also readon here you should check your exhaust pipe on the end and see if its not closed up and due to oil. If it is I done what they all do on here and have a muffler BBQ. Put the muffler in a pit with a lot of hard burning wood or coals and let it burn for around 3 hours. Did wonders to mine all that crap burned out.

I don't think you can go wrong buying a cart for $100. Post some pictures when you get a chance.

Hey man welcome to the forum. Trust me before its all over you will atleast have spent 10 times that much on upgrades for the cart, so its good to start cheap!
