Default noise when taking off

Hey guys, thanks for any help. Last golf cart was electric now got a 02 club car ds. When the car starts to accelerate there is a "tinging" type noise kinda like a bell ringing? Noise only lasts a few seconds and that is the only time it happens. Clutch noise?

My '93 does the same thing. From talking to other people, and doing some Sherlock Holmes investigating I have narrowed my noise to my drive clutch. I am fixing to send both my clutches to Tom so he can rebuild my drive clutch and install the 200 RPM spring and machine the driven clutch and install the power spring. The drive clutch rebuild WITH 200 RPM spring is still cheaper than buying a new one. And if you dont need the spring you can get it rebuilt even cheaper. Hope this helps!

It's actually the drive clutch "buttons" that are making that noise, and maybe starting to wear out!

It's a little more then an hour job to pull the drive clutch, take it apart, replace the buttons, and reinstall it.
(But, being it was my first time taking a clutch apart, it took a little more then three hours on a friends cart. )

Of coarse, you'll need a drive clutch puller, a set of buttons, (#10) and an exploded veiw of the clutch.

and here they are!
