Re: Had dealer replace brushes
Overkill, Thanks for appreciating our humor!
The 36v system as a whole is only a sum of its components..... Therefore it is important to determine what condition each of the batteries are in and whether they are all matched or balanced ( the same).... Most do this with a simple voltmeter and hydrometer..... When all the 6 batteries are healthy and when connected in series readings as high as say 44v may be attained......36v would be flat ready for recharge. I hope this helps? |

Re: Had dealer replace brushes
Ok thanks. My system is showing about 42v but the batteries are wearing down way to fast. I was wondering if their was voltage drop somewhere. I am getting only about 30min run time.

Re: Had dealer replace brushes
You may have a weak battery or two.....optimum run time is 90 minutes, 60 on old batteries. A hydrometer will tell the tale......a bad cel could cause this... How old are the batteries? what is stamped into the posts? Anything? What brand?

Re: Had dealer replace brushes
Yeah my batteries are about 6 years old according to the numbers on the top posts. What is the average length of a well taken care of 6 volt?

Gorno, I could be conservative. I think I got those #s from Michael aka cartfixer or maybe Andy....now I can't be sure. Actual peddle time takes awhile to add up...But again I'm only repeating what I've been taught. Where is your stopwatch? Maybe you can check peddle time on the Z car?

Re: Had dealer replace brushes
Then again, 90 minutes @ WOT (14mph) will yield 21 miles. They should go around 30 miles on a charge, so you're not that far off I guess. The keyword is PEDAL TIME.
