Snowmobile? Gearbox Identification
I bought this F-N-R gearbox a few years ago on eBay then went another direction with the project it was originally intended for (desert kart). Now I'm thinking of putting it behind a 13hp clone in the resurrection of a cannibalized carryall and am curious what its pedigree might be. I was told at the time of purchase that it was from a small snowmobile. There are no markings or tags. The bolt pattern at the base is 4x6 inch. The driven pulley is 10" in diameter. and the sprocket is a double row, 18 tooth, #35. The brake disk is 6" in diameter. The push-pull shifter is on the front and both fwd and rev are 1:1 ratio. Anybody out there, maybe in sled country, recognize this from days past? Not many snowmobile shops in San Diego to go to for info. I appreciate all responses.
