I screwed the POOCH!
I created a wiring nitemare.Leave it to ME to foul up stuff I have a tuff time with.
Hauling limbs and brush...I ran SMACK over my wiring harness.I knew it was rolled up in a bad spot since my motor rebuild. But being a lazy bustusd...I let it HANG. Well....I ripped it out of the igniter,coil,solenoid,starter/gen.Even a few other places.I can get it to run...but not charge.I know wires come from the coil an the starter/gen.But reading a wiring diagram is like reading Japanese to me. I have a G2 gas |

Back in Texas old friend.Wish I was still in Seattle. Update...my son...who is more mechanical than me...is working on it.He re-did what he could.A couple of wires were pulled out of the igniter. He thinks he has them fixed...but now...all it will do is turn over.Very, very little spark. Not enuff to fire. Dave...would you have an old plug-in for the igniter? One with the wires still in place?I believe thats where our problem is right now. |

Re: I screwed the POOCH!
I'm real careful of this stuff as I ride in lots of wooded areas. Just last fall I got back from a short run and heard a tiny noise. I pulled the seat up and about a 1" stick was hitting the seat bottom, inside the primary clutch and inside the belt, and dragging on the ground. That could have damaged the belt if it would have caught. I really need a skidplate. Usually it does not get stuff in there with the lift, but once in a while is all it takes.

Re: I screwed the POOCH!
No go on the plug or a good used wireharnesssorry. Yamaha still sells the complete wireharness, part#j38-82590-21-00 suggested retail is 72.74. Good luck
