EZ GO 244 internal Starter/Generator
I have a 1978 EZ GO with 244 cc Robin and internal starter/generator. Does anyone know if this starter generator combo can be found used anywhere or should I pass it on to golf cart heaven? Mine has some issues with melting going on in it. Thanks in advance

Re: EZ GO 244 internal Starter/Generator
A little update. The PO said it needed brushes. Upon taking it apart and looking at how it works It looks like the brushes only touch about 1/3 of the armature?? Could I have the wrong magnet housing with this thing? Or wrong armature? It all fits together but the brushes dont seem right? Can anyone help me out on this. I have not seen it run but did turn over very slow when I tried. The motor is a EC25DS and the starter housing is Nippondenso.

Re: EZ GO 244 internal Starter/Generator
I gave up on finding parts for the internal st/gen. I went with a 2pg out of a donor cart. I kept my old st/gen if ur interested in making an offer for it. I have the good running 1pg engine also if ur interested. U probably could take 2 st/gens and make 1 good one. Mine burnt thru an insulator in one spot.

The brush should only sit on one maybe two bars.

Re: EZ GO 244 internal Starter/Generator
I might be interested in your parts, My question is the brushes sit only a 1/3 of the way on the armature. It seems the armature is in too far. See I'm not sure if the PO has the right parts in it. theclintonsx4 Do you know was your magnet field a nippendenso and what was the thickness of it on yours

Re: EZ GO 244 internal Starter/Generator
Do you still have your old armature from your old 1977 motor?
