Default 93 ezgo I知 assuming 36v bare cart need help

Hey everybody so I bought this 93 ezgo and I知 assuming it痴 36 V Electric cart and I知 trying to see if anybody can take a look at the pictures and tell me parts that I would need to get it going again it has a motor I need to test it and make sure it痴 good pool day forward and reverse switch off of a 92 so any help would be greatly welcome. Also any thoughts on doing a 12 V battery conversion instead of the 6 V batteries

12v hold less amperage than 6v. There would considerably less amperage to consume in 3/12v versus 6/6v. That not a good choice.
It looks like you have an Ezgo Marathon (late) made between about 1990 and 1994. The black bracket in the middle of the batteries needs a series controller and solenoid to run. I'm assuming the potentiometer on the bracket is good and the motor is good as they usually are.
A word of advice - unless you are happy with slow and steady pace build the cart as a 48v drive system. 48v will induce the stock motor to produce 30-33% more torque and speed than 36v... believe me it needs that boost. I would get a 500 control/400 solenoid combo and 6/8v and a charger and make it work.
GL with the project.

I agree with the 48 volt path. You have to buy the components anyway so may as well make it more sellable.

I agree with the above suggestions also. You have to buy some new parts so you might as well buy better parts so you have a better product to sell.

Awesome thanks for the replies I値l definitely start on the hunt for those parts! Now I have a steering question. So when I bought it (175) I pulled a steering column off a 92 and used the gear from it as well. When I bolted it on it turned right then back to center but would slip trying to turn left I pulled it apart again and put it back together but now it doesn稚 steer in either direction

ScottyB at cartsunlimited.net has all the electrical parts you'll need at reasonable prices. For your steering issue, you may want to start a new thread.

One of the beauties of the Series drive system (this one & all early carts) is the simplicity of the control system. THere are literally just 6 or 7 wires needed to make the whole thing work. The best approach would be to strip the cart of all wires. Get a few short rolls of 16g primary automotive wire in 3 or 4 colors (this is important) and then just wire per the casic install instruction.
The Controller, solenoid, HD F&R (585L), and 13 pc cable set can all be ordered together in our drop down menu for Alltrax SR48500 control.
Email if you have specific questions
