Did that to mine 2 years ago. Best thing to do for offroad. Mine will spin the tire on dirt or rocks before the motor bogs down. I've climbed lots of steep hills with me and wife and works like a champ.

Keep in mind that installing the spring in the drive clutch will change the way it engages - the heavier spring increases the engagement RPM so takeoffs can get a bit jerky ... If You drive your cart hard it's pretty cool but if You do a lot of low-speed putting around (no pun intended) it can be a bit annoying ... Clocking the driven clutch spring (or getting a heavier one altogether) along with a shorter belt will give You a significant increase while maintaining your smooth takeoff, just a thought ...

So if I change just the driven clutch spring and smaller belt I can get good results....how smaller of a belt do I use?

Thanks

There's a link to a great writeup, it also gives You the part numbers You need, depending on your cart.
