New Batteries-New Charger?

Well, after a 10-year run I'm replacing my 8V Trojans. They're MUCH more expensive than they were when I last bought them back in March of '05 so I want to treat them well. What are your thoughts on an on-board battery charger-pros/cons/price/availability? Thanks for any input!

I have new Trojans, I am thinking about getting a dpi charger even though there is nothing wrong with mine. I like what I'm reading about them. Would not hurt to have extra.

I can only think of 2 reasons why an onboard charger is the best choice:

1) You want a long range and will be recharging the cart at different locations.

2) You want a bank charger to maximize the life and performance of the batteries.

Since your driving and maintenance habits yielded 10 years out of a pack (congratulations), I guess only #1 would apply to you.

Has anyone tried those new High Frequency "charger plus" that FSIP is selling?

Just saw in their pop up add, but they have no pricing. I can not believe in 2015 vendors still say "call for pricing"

I can. The price is normally so high their ashamed to post it!

Or they really need to work on Selling You the product..., that is how I view those kind of banners also.

You have options - But that really depends on how quickly you want a full re-charge from the on-board charger - and how deeply discharged the batteries would typically be when you placed it on the on-board charger. See THIS LINK

Sergio I seen those chargers too. After I just orderd the dpi charger. Is the fsip charger the same as the dpi? And yeah just the **** price on the add people like its so much of a secret.

The FSIP is a high frequency charger, meaning is the latest technology without using a big transformer.

The biggest thing is the light weight and efficiency.

I don't think there is much more innovation left in a battery charger algorithm.

The flip side is that those things are usually not serviceable, although I don't know if the FSIP is one of those where is not feasible to repair.
