Thank you for the diagram! CTD. I think i may pull the axells and check those splines next...i had noticed with a auto stethascope, i could hear the clink .--now known from a clunk.i really worded that wrong, one word can throw A novel off, so its a "clink" now. .as per gear lash will sound.
bob s btw thanks all and good morning to you all. Rain predicted here for the next 3 days. i will have to get a pair of oars bi-that time.trade my kart for a boat ha ha bob s

My daughter-in-law can take videos . i will make a point, with her to try this see what happens.thank you CTD good idea!

JJance;

I can believe the "sealant" in sealing the case", when guys ride them thru the woods, and just generally run them thru water and mud.Mine will never be setting O/S for any reason . So i'd be safe,There was a slight thin ring of surface rust, on the motor where the 2 parts joined.jmo bob s

. This kart came with out the two parts sealed up with anything

That is liquid gasket to seal the differential case and the transaxle to the differential case connection.

Working on same project here. I looked at this diagram closely, what is on the inside? .end of the axels? . Are they splined?and are forced fit in -or are they held inside with a clip of some sort.Iwould like to pull the pass side axel out of the housing and look the splines over good. i could have a chipped [spline]tooth, I doubt it!........ but should check. I do hear the noise get louder when i am listening on my scope... right at the axel o/s flange.' bob s thanks again for anything relative.

I'd guess that it is in the brake shoe assy. Is that the normal volume or are you recording it thru the stethoscope?
