Default Re: Electric EZ Go just quit, batteries are good

i think i must have a bad cell in one of the batteries, all of the batteries measured about 6.1-6.3 volts with no load except for one, which was at 4.5v. 5 of the batteries showed little to no voltage drop when i pressed down on the accelerator, but the one that measured 4.5v dropped to less than 1v when i pushed down on the accelerator.

i measured the voltage on all 6 batteries, 5 were at about 6.1-6.3 volts, the voltage didn't really drop at all on these when i pushed the accel. On the last battery the voltage started at 4.5v and dropped to less than 1v when i pushed down on the accel. i assume this battery has a bad cell or something.

All of these batteries work as a team, limited by the weakest team member. One bad battery will kill the cart performance (and ability to do work). Its all about the "weakest link in the chain". The batteries are a chain, and only one weak link ruins the chain. Same goes for charging, the weak link is preventing the others from ever getting a full charge. Your best bet is one of two things, get a used battery that matches your other used batteries to replace the bad one, or get a whole new set. Dont waste money with 1 new battery in that set (it will soon be degraded to the level of the others). Mix & match with new batteries is throwing your $ in the trash. You will be "chasing the junk battery out" while abusing the newer batteries.
