Default 2003 ez go electric cart PDS

Replaced my bad controller with a new controller. the 1st thing i noticed was that the top speed was noticeable slower and the speed would go from slow to a surge to fast for about 3 seconds then back to slow (5 mph). Do i have the wrong controller? thanks for your help.

ScottyB all i know is that it is a PDS controller and has a place for different speed chips or wiring configurations. the action is the same with the two different chips or with out a chip. before the the controller went bad it was fast with a lot of torque. thanks

That acts like the speed sensor. Make sure the connections are clean and tight. Single grey wire loom with 3 small wires in it.. Is it beeping? And actually putting it in diagnostic mode would help. Key off, flip the FnR switch from n to r 5 times then back to n. Should hear a number of beeps which tells you what chip is in it. Now drive it and count beeps.

thanks KGCS I will clean the speed sensor wire and give it a try. I will try the diagnostic beeps and see what that points toward. I will let you knnow.
