Default Parking brake....

2007 TXT, parking brake no longer engages correctly. It will pop off on its own sometimes too when it DOES engage. Is this a wear item and if so which item needs replacement?

YES its a wear item.....however, its easy to refurbish it. the wear item is called the "CATCH BRACKET", which is actually a small removable part with a sharp edge on it.....two bolts hold it on and can be filed to make a sharper edge. ALSO its matching part is the "Pedal Latch Arm" and using a file can also be made to have a better edge in it.

I needed to do this very thing when I rebuilt my cart.

Thanx SN. Can the items be filed while installed or will I need to tear it all apart? BTW, haven't even looked under there yet, LOL.

it should be easy enough to take the catch bracket (its actually a small piece of metal about 2" x 1.5" and held in by the two bolts. the Pedal Latch Arm can be easily done in place.
