Speed issue on 1998 regen Club Car
I have a 1998 regen Club Car 48V. It's a 2 part problem - One, the top speed is 12 mph flat-out; Two, the car is really jerky unless the pedal is pushed all the way down. I just put all new batteries in it and it didn't help with the speed issue.

Sounds like v glide needs adjusted and cleaned.

They're slow by nature. The jerkiness could be due to a bad MCOR or V-Glide. An MCOR 4 conversion kit should smooth the throttle out.

If you want to dive-in and ensure that the multi-step-potentiometer (v-glide) is working properly - or needs work, you can take guidance from THIS THREAD

Re: Speed issue on 1998 regen Club Car
The MCOR4 (Motor Controller Output Regulator) is the newest form of Club Car throttle control devices. The MCOR4 replaces the MCOR1 or V-Glide on your vehicle. It works much like a dimmer switch on the wall for a light. The more you turn the knob, the more power it applies. It's purpose is to communicate with the motor controller to control the amount of power that is dispersed to the motor. When the contacts get dirty on the MCOR, the throttle can begin to surge because it's not making a good connection and the vehicle can do exactly as you describe. The V-Glide is the Pie shaped box mounted under the driver's seat. It's mounted directly to the main frame beam between the batteries. Your car will have one or the other (V-Glide or MCOR), never both. If you have a V-Glide, the correct kit would be AM293201 (Pre-MCOR to MCOR4 conversion kit). If you have an MCOR, the correct kit would be AM293101 (MCOR to MCOR4 Conversion Kit). Both of these are found on our web store and come complete with installation instructions from Club Car. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.
