Default Too Much Oil

Did an oil change on my G8(gas) and thought I was draining the engine oil when in fact I drained the diff oil. Then added a quart to the engine. Didn't run it for long but it started to lose rpms.
What damage could occur?
Haven't drained the engine oil ye but well do that in the morning.

Thanks

Fred

Drain all motor oil, add exactly 1 qt. Open air box to see/clean oil out. If filter is wet with oil, replace it (will not flow air once its oil soaked, likely cause of rpm loss). Otherwise, spark plug could be fouled. Thats about it. Other stuff is possible, but unlikely, as it did not suffer long term & repeated abuse. Also, might wanna pour some 90w in that axle.

Thanks. That what I did and it seems to be OK. Refilled the rear end and replaced filter and drained the oil.But the oil was very milky looking like it had water in it. I will run it to warm it up and so another oil change. If I do it enough I MAY get it right.LOL Why would the oil be milky as these motors have no water in them? Just from being whipped up?

Thanks

Fred.

I don't know of any way for oil to be milky unless it has water in it. Is this cart a new purchase? If so the previous owner might have submerged it.

Be sure to change the oil a couple of times ( 1 quart only). Smell of the oil on the dipstick and make sure it doesn't smell like gas and double check the dipstick each time before and after running the cart to make sure it is not still dumping gas into the crankcase. Should be ok after a couple of oil changes and exhaust may puff some smoke for a while. Check the air filter also and clean out the air box if needed.
