Options for running ~2mph faster?
My Precedent is a golf course retiree so everything "under the hood" is completely stock. I picked up a little extra speed with the bigger wheels and tires so now it runs maybe 16-17mph at full pedal. I'm possibly taking it to a place where the max legal speed for carts is 19.5mph but everyone there usually runs at least that and they get a little unhappy when you are in front of them and can't keep up the pace. It's time for new batteries. So, I'm wondering what my options are for adding a little more speed. With the new batteries, would better cables help at all? Would one of the magnets do anything for me or should I consider either an aftermarket motor or getting a speed code adjustment? I really only need about 2mph increase but it would be nice to have a few mph's on reserve when needed.

Re: Options for running ~2mph faster?
The 2007 Precedent is an IQ cart so the speed magnet would be a good way to get a few more mph.
It will however remove your Regen brake. |

Options for running ~2mph faster?
It goes on the end of the motor. There will be a pigtail on the end of he motor. The magnet is underneath it.
If the pigtail looks like a top hat, it's an AMD motor and easy to change. (A screw hold the magnet in place) If the pigtail is flat, it's a GE motor and the magnet is pressed onto the shaft. Little more difficult to change, but not bad. Some folks have luck and are able to get the magnet off with the paint can screwdrivers you get a home improvement stores. I on the other hand I did not have such luck and had to pull the motor on both of mine to get the end cap off and put a new magnet in. Oh and get your high speed magnet from Revolution Golf Cars (site sponsor). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Re: Options for running ~2mph faster?
Got it - thanks all. I am familiar with David and he has helped me in the past with repair parts for my carts and chargers as well as shocks and lift kits, etc. I just wasn't familiar with the magnet, at least not specifically how it works and what to expect. My 06 had the top hat speed sensor but I honestly don't know which one this cart has so will have to look next time I am with the cart.

Man I wish at times I had a regen motor that all it needed was a speed code or magnet to speed up. Sometimes
